Works statement:
Due to many years of a nomadic lifestyle, my understanding and judgment of China have always been limited to major first-tier cities like Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, and Shenzhen. Smaller cities like my hometown have only existed as places filled with nostalgia and warmth. In 2020, by chance, I visited an unfamiliar small city. I was struck by the vast scale of the residential buildings and the towering construction sites amid the fields. This experience made me realise that these small counties and cities represent the real existence of the majority of China.
However, most people's lives are spent in such small cities, or they return here after wandering. In these places, striving to buy a home becomes the beacon for most people, and the size and number of properties one owns become bargaining chips for achieving life milestones like marriage and starting a family.
The booming real estate industry is one of the key engines driving urbanization and economic growth. We are filled with pride for China's manufacturing and speed, constantly pursuing faster, higher, and stronger, and worshiping technology, power, and strength. Residential building complexes stand in cities as monuments to power and capital, while today's unfinished buildings resemble tombstones for the real estate bubble in urbanisation.

在过去长年的游牧式生活，使得我对中国的认识与判断的依据，总是局限于北上广深这类一线大城市，而类似我自己家乡的小城市，仅是作为一座充斥着乡愁与温暖的情感存在。2020因机缘前往一座陌生的小城市，我被这座小城市的巨大规模的商品房以及各处田野间耸起的施工大楼所震撼，也让我重新认识到这些小县城市是中国大多数的真实存在。
然而大多数的人的大多数生活是在这样的小城市，或是漂泊后重新回到这里，在这里，努力拼搏买一套属于自己的房子成为大多数追逐的灯塔，拥有多少多大的房产也成为了实现结婚生子人生使命的筹码。
房地产业的蓬勃发展是推动城市化与促成经济增长的重要引擎之一，我们充满着对中国制造与速度的自豪，并一直在追求更快、更高、更强，以及对技术、力量和权力的崇拜。商品房建筑群像树立在城市中象征着权力与资本的纪念碑，而如今的烂尾楼又像是城市化房地产泡沫的墓碑。
在疫情刚爆发并封城时，刚好是在农历新年的晚上，外面的飓风冲击着这些城市中的高大的建筑产生出“嗡嗡”的长鸣，我将这一晚风与城市中建筑的哀嚎记录了下来，并设置在装置作品的内部。
装置整体视觉呈现为一个现代性的混泥土柱子，顶部柱头是由网状的金属与绿色织物编织成的，也类似于建筑的施工隔离网的形态。电频闪光灯和共振声音设备设置在装置内部，规律地频率的闪光伴随着稳定的“哒哒”声，穿透顶部的绿网将投射成网状影笼，共振音响通过振动柱体介面传出声波，走近作品的地面或用手触摸表面能感受到声波造成细微震动。
